The issue with the scathing reviews for Last Christmas is more about how the movie is being marketed as a romcom and … does not meet genre expectations. It’s hard to discuss without major spoilers. I think people who are forewarned of the twist or who easily sussed it out from the film’s previews will enjoy at least parts of the film. It has a very talented cast. Uh oh. I was hoping the thing we all kind of guessed from the trailer isn’t true. If it is, and the movie is sort of bait and switch then that sucks. What’s wrong with straight up romcoms? *sigh* I will temper my expectations now, thanks!
